Monster Threads (a collective for indie illustrators to sell their wares) has opened a bright new store at The Galleries in Sydney. Compared to their Causeway Lane closet in Melbourne this one offers a lot more space to peruse the product. A super friendly young man was being most helpful behind the counter (I liked that so much I made a purchase to kick start my Christmas shopping - lordy it really is that time of year again). You can find them on street level at The Galleries, 500 George St Sydney.

A little birdie told me…
Ivy + Bird is a collective of local, hand made and niche homewares, jewelry and bits & bobs. It also includes a seamstress service stashed away up on the mezzanine level. A v. cute range of cotton dresses for little birdies is sold under their Little People label. You can find Ivy+Bird at 164 Arthur Street, New Farm.
Lovin’ Leavain
Jerome & Louis from Sourced Grocer gave me the tip on Terry Wilson and I've fallen madly in love with his loaves of loveliness sold under the Leavain label ever since (aside from the bread, his hazelnut flourless mini chocolate cakes are not half bad either!) I enjoyed a chat with him on a sunny Sunday morning at the new Stone's Corner Farmers Market. It's a family affair (his gorgeous girls pictured with him here) and his passion for the product is all in the tasting. You have to reside in BrisVegas if you want to break Terry's bread (really this is a town that continues to evolve ... whilst it will never be Melbourne, Milan or Manhattan it has its own certain charm).
Urban dweller
Is this on Target?
If you happen to be in Manhattan today then you could pop into Target's pop up for Missoni. It's open for 3 days only (8-10th Sept) as part of Fashion's Night Out. The 400 piece range will be available in store from Sept 13th. I don't know about you but for me there are some brands that just shouldn't go there (collaborations with the 'cheap and cheerful' end of town ... or as my No. Niece described these collaborations as they just started to emerge a few years ago [at the same time rolling her young cynical eyes] ... "oh that's the bogan-isation of luxury"). It sort of naffs me off that the original, full price, Missoni bath towels hanging in my bathroom might no longer be "a little bit special". Irrespective of how I feel about the brand, I love the stunning decal window treatment. Missoni for Target pop up 1065 Sixth Ave, Manhattan. Via nyclovesnyc.blogspot.com
